I always consider January to be the second new year of a year. Having had so many children, the first new year in my mind is September.

I look forward to January, not because of the weather – heaven knows January and February are frozen cold and snowy where I live – but because we are four months into the ‘year.’ It’s a good time to review the first four months of the academic year and make any course corrections that are needed to make the year a good one. Sometimes the changes are ‘do more’ in a particular direction.
